Pontiac Engine Mount

The Pontiac engine mounts are devices which provide connection between the various parts of an automobile and the vehicle’s framework or chassis. These devices keep proper alignments while allowing the movements as necessary. They also dampen vibration and noise so to provide the driver and passengers a comfortable and more satisfying ride.

The Pontiac mount is of two kinds; the engine mount and the transmission mount. The first one attaches the engine to the chassis, whereas the latter works with the engine mount to control torque and lessen the vibration being transferred to the chassis. It is also called the trans mount for it also keeps linkages in their proper positions, forming the rear support of the transmission assembly and the right angling of the driveshaft front.
