Pontiac Heater Core
The interior of the Pontiac vehicle models, such as the Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac
Grand Prix, Pontiac Montana, Pontiac Sunfire, Pontiac Grand Am, and other Pontiac
models isn’t directly heated by electricity or gasoline. It is the job being
performed by the Pontiac heater core. The Pontiac heater core is a small radiator
that sits up in the dashboard of the vehicle with engine coolant flowing through
it.
The Pontiac’s engine produces so much heat that has to be expelled, and that
heat needs to be sent to the Pontiac heater core to warm the passenger compartment
instead of using an electric or gas-fired heater. Whenever heat is needed, the
fan blows air over the Pontiac heater core, warming it up. And when heat is no
longer needed, the coolant or the interior air, or both, will get through the
Pontiac heater core t. Thus, the Pontiac heater core is considered as the heart
of the vehicle’s heating system.
However, as the vehicle ages, the Pontiac heater core will suffer from corrosion
and leaks. The corrosion occurs due to lack of coolant changes. Leaks on the other
hand come as a result of corrosion, either from the acidic coolant eating away
at the joints of the heater core or from the additional pressure that result from
a blocked heater core weakening the joints. Hence, an inefficient Pontiac heater
core can end up with a loss of heat output, damp floors, and even rusted body.
Leakage needs to be addressed promptly to prevent hassles. If the Pontiac heater
core goes bad, replace it with quality brands heater core, like the OEQ and the
4-Seasons. Both of the OEQ Pontiac heater core and the 4-Seasons Pontiac heater
core restore the efficiency of warming the passenger compartment of every Pontiac
models.
