Pontiac Weatherstrip

Weatherstrip is used typically on open panel of a vehicle such as door panel,
trunk, and windows. This is usually made from highly durable and soft rubber like
material that is placed on the edges of these frequently opened portions, in order
to prevent wind noise and rainwater from entering inside the cabin of your Pontiac
vehicle. Some
Pontiac weatherstrip features an extruded aluminum base with notched
sides for easy and precise installation, and a slotted screw holes for adjustment.
If in some case the weatherstrips of your Pontiac are no longer fitted for hampering
those elements from entering the cabin, replacing it is vital as soon as possible.
However, removing the old weatherstrip is not an easy task for it will not just
be peeled off easily. It needs time and extra force to successfully remove this
component. If you would not be cautious enough, some remnants would be left, and
that would mean another tough job of removal process.
The proper way to remove faulty and old weatherstip is by using a clean solvent,
rags, and other necessary tools for scrapping. Since the 3M red tape is very tough,
the use of a cleaning agent would be perfect. However, it must be done with a
lot of cautiousness in order to avoid any accident such as dripping it in you
expensive paint finish. This contains a harmful substance that may result for
the exterior finish to crack and eventually be removed exposing the metal fenders
of your Pontiac vehicle. Revealed metal parts may start corrosion that can damage
your Pontiac vehicle and make it look ugly.
If the Pontiac weatherstrip is properly fastened, the window, trunk, and doors
of your Pontiac vehicle will be more airtight and water tight. This will ensure
that dust, dirt, rainwater, and wind noise will be blocked and repelled away from
the cabin.
